From: London, UK Website Following her Post Graduate in Art & Psychopathology, visual artist Lorraine Clarke lived in Italy for 19 years.
Returning to the UK, she co-founded Euroart Studios (& Gallery) in London in 2002.
In November 2010 her extraordinary book “Fertility Dolls”, with foreword by renowned & published poet, sculptor and performance artist Brian Catling, was published.
“My work, taking multiple forms from large installations to small finely crafted collections, incorporating found and made objects, animation and sound, is infused with research into ancient rites and traditions, belief systems, religion, anthropology, aspects of the medical world and the human condition.
Through my creative process, transforming materials – often regarded as detritus, into objects of contemplation, new and strange, yet somehow familiar, I challenge the viewer to reflect upon what it is to be human”.
Over the past 10 years she has created a large body of work expressing her ongoing interest and research into the link between Magic, Medicine and Religion.
She has exhibited widely and most recently had written works published in “Loose Muse – An Anthology of New Writing by Women”.
